First and last shots of the war.

The first shot in World War One was in Mons on the 23rd of August 1914. England and Germany were fighting, it was foggy and England did not know where the Germans were. Then the fog lifted. There were many Germans right in front of them, and then the first shot was fired.


4 years later it was the last day of the war. There were two English soldiers and it was two minutes before the war was over and one of them was killed by German soldiers.


The two shots - the first and the last - were only on the other side of the street from each other!
